Picking a first bag from eight single origins is a coin flip, so we made it a guided one. Three full-size 10 oz tubes — not samples — that walk from the easiest cup in the lineup to the most interesting. By the third tube you will know what you actually like, and you will have 30 oz of coffee instead of a row of thimbles.

Why these three

1. Parceiros do Cafe — Light roast, natural. Minas Gerais, Brazil. The crowd-pleaser: honey, vanilla, milk chocolate, peanut brittle.
2. San Marcos — Medium roast, washed. Guatemala. The balanced classic: brown sugar, praline, caramelized orange.
3. Gaitania — Medium roast, sundried. Tolima, Colombia. The adventurous one: mulled blueberry, blood orange, plum.

Drink them in that order. It is a flight, not a grab bag.
